The former Casta bakery in Saint-Denis, on Reunion island, has been renovated to Frères Métis Burger restaurant. Located in

Le Tampon, St-Pierre, Ste-Clotilde, and St-Louis, Frères Métis occupies a central position in the Cathedral Square, in the island's capital. Directly opposite the cathedral, a listed historical building,

the existing structure is classified as a reconstruction with a traditional appearance. The challenge, therefore, was to redesign the facades while preserving... The existing wooden cladding and corrugated metal roof were replaced, and openwork and integrated signage

was proposed. The chosen paint colors complement the colors

of the surrounding Creole houses and the island's color palette.

A deck terrace was added, extending the existing terraces. Since

the restaurant offers takeout, the existing central window was replaced, and a sash window was installed overlooking the kitchen.
